UPDATE: 18-year-old charged in Bent Mtn. triple homicide appears in court

June 13, 2018 - Last night Roanoke County Police arrested Trevor E. Charles, 18, of Roanoke in connection to the Bent Mountain triple homicide.  He is charged with three counts of first degree murder and three counts of use of firearm in the commission of a felony.  

Charles appeared in court this morning for a video hearing.  He requested a court-appointed attorney and was appointed Jeffrey L. Dorsey. 

The preliminary hearing for Charles is scheduled for August 1 at 9:00 a.m.  He is currently being held in the Roanoke County/Salem jail.

A vigil to honor the victims, Brandon Dekle, Cole Kennedy and Miranda Trump is scheduled for tonight at the Bent Mountain Bistro at 6:30 p.m.
