Roanoke Police: Abandoned Vehicles Due to Flooding Need to Be Removed

The Roanoke Police Department seeks the assistance of vehicle owners related to this afternoon's rain event.

Anyone who abandoned a vehicle due to high water will need to have it moved as soon as the high water recedes and the area is safe.

Friday morning traffic on October 12, 2018, traffic will necessitate the towing of vehicles left in the roadway that are a hazard to morning commuter traffic.

As the high waters are still with us in many parts of the City, police caution the community to use extra care if they must travel. Do not drive through high water. Turn around, don't drown.
